Cleansing Prayers

Cleansing Prayers

Heavenly Father, in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, by the power of the Holy Spirit, we pray that the cleansing power of the precious blood of Your Son come upon us right now.

Purify us and wash us clean with the blood of Jesus from the top of our heads down to the very soles of our feet. Let this blood penetrate the very marrow of our bones to cleanse us from any entanglement from whatever evil spirits we have come in contact with during the course of our intercession. Anoint us with the gifts of the Holy Spirit and refresh our body, soul, and spirit, and may the sign of Your holy cross drive away all evil spirits from us.

In the Name of the Father + and the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Lord Jesus, thank You for sharing with us Your wonderful ministry of healing and deliverance. Thank You for the healing we have seen and experienced today. But we realize that the sickness and evil we encountered are more than our humanities can bear. So cleanse us of any sadness, negativity, or despair that we may have picked up during the course of this ministry.

If our ministry has tempted us to anger, impatience, or lust, cleanse us of those temptations and replace them with love, joy and peace. If any evil spirits have attached themselves to us or oppress us in any way, I command You, spirits of earth, air, fire, or water, of the netherworld or of nature, and all spirits not of the Holy Spirit to depart now and go straight to Jesus Christ, for Him to deal with as He wills.

Come, Holy Spirit, renew us, fill us anew with Your power, love and joy. Strengthen us where we have felt weak and clothe us with Your light. Fill us with life. And Lord Jesus, please send your holy angels to minister to us and our families and to guard and protect us from all sickness, harm, and accidents and guard us on a safe trip home, and grant us a peaceful night’s rest. We praise You now and forever, Heavenly Father, in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, by the power of the Holy Spirit, we pray that the cleansing power of the precious blood of Your Son come upon us right now.

Deliverance Prayer

Deliverance Prayer

Lord, have Mercy. God, Our Lord, King of Ages, All powerful and Almighty, Thou Who hast made everything and who hast transformed everything simply by Thy Will. Thou Who in Babylon changed into dew the flames of the “seven-times hotter” furnace and protected and saved the three holy children. Thou are the doctor and the physician of our souls. Thou are the salvation of those who turn to Thee. We beseech Thee to make powerless, banish, and drive out every diabolic power, presence, and machination; every evil influence, malefice, or evil eye and all evil actions aimed against Your servant… where there is envy and malice, give us an abundance of goodness, endurance, victory and charity. O Lord, Thou who loves man, we beg Thee to reach out Thy powerful hands and Thy most high and mighty arms and come to our aid. Help us, who are made in your image; send the Angel of Peace over us, to protect us body and soul. May he keep at bay and vanquish every evil power, every poison or malice invoked against us by corrupt and envious people. Then, under the protection of Thy authority may we sing in gratitude, “The Lord is my salvation; whom should I fear? I will not fear evil because Thou art with me, my God, my strength, my powerful Lord, Lord of Peace, Father of all Ages.

Holy Name of Jesu

Litany of the Holy Name of Jesus

“This litany of the Most Holy Name of Jesus brings to mind the words of St. Paul: “whatever you do in word or in work, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus" (Col 3:17). This tribute of supplication to our Lord is thought to have been composed by two 15th century champions of devotion to the Holy Name of Jesus, St. Bernardine of Siena and his student St. John of Capistrano. It gives us a good opportunity to meditate on both our Lord’s attributes and His life, while asking Him for heavenly guidance and assistance.

The litany of the Most Holy Name of Jesus received the Church’s approval for private use by Pope Sixtus V in 1585, and public recitation by Pope Leo XIII in 1886. (It is one of only six litanies approved for public use.) The Church celebrates the feast of the Holy Name of Jesus on January 3rd.”

Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Sacred Heart

“In 1899 Pope Leo XIII approved this Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus for public use. This litany is actually a synthesis of several other litanies dating back to the 17th century. Father Croiset composed a litany in 1691 from which 17 invocations were used by Venerable Anne Madeleine Remuzat when she composed her litany in 1718 at Marseille. She joined an additional 10 invocations to those of Father Croiset, for a total of 27 invocations. Six more invocations written by Sister Madeleine Joly of Dijon in 1686 were added by the Sacred Congregation for Rites when it was approved for public use in 1899. This makes a total of 33 invocations, one for each year of life of our Lord Jesus Christ. A partial indulgence is attached to this litany.”

PRAYER TO SAINT JOSEPH AFTER THE ROSARY/LITANY

To you, O Blessed Joseph, we come in our trials, and having asked the help of your most holy spouse, we confidently ask your patronage also. Through that sacred bond of charity which united you to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God and through the fatherly love with which you embraced the Child Jesus, we humbly beg you to look graciously upon the beloved inheritance which Jesus Christ purchased by his blood, and to aid us in our necessities with your power and strength.

O most provident guardian of the Holy Family, defend the chosen children of Jesus Christ. Most beloved father, dispel the evil of falsehood and sin. Our most mighty protector, graciously assist us from heaven in our struggle with the powers of darkness. And just as you once saved the Child Jesus from mortal danger, so now defend God’s Holy Church from the snares of her enemies and from all adversity. Shield each one of us by your constant protection, so that, supported by your example and your help, we may be able to live a virtuous life, to die a holy death, and to obtain eternal happiness in heaven.

Pope Leo XIII Prayer to St. Michael

Pope Leo XIII Prayer to St. Michael

The well-known short version of this prayer follows in English and Latin. The Pope ordered this prayer to be recited daily after Low Mass in all the churches throughout the Catholic world. However this practice was almost completely swept away in the 1960s by liturgical changes made in the wake of Vatican Council II.

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the malice and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.

In Latinam:

Sáncte Míchael Archángele, defénde nos in proélio, cóntra nequítiam et insídias diáboli ésto præsídium. Ímperet ílli Déus, súpplices deprecámur: tuque, prínceps milítiæ cæléstis, Sátanam aliósque spíritus malígnos, qui ad perditiónem animárum pervagántur in múndo, divína virtúte, in inférnum detrúde. Ámen

V. Behold the Cross of the Lord; be scattered ye hostile powers.

R. The Lion of the tribe of Judah has conquered, the root of David.

V. Let Thy mercies be upon us, O Lord.

R. As we have hoped in Thee.

V. O Lord, hear my prayer.

R. And let my cry come unto Thee.

Let us pray.

O God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, we call upon Thy holy Name, and as supplicants, we implore Thy clemency, that by the intercession of Mary, ever Virgin Immaculate and our Mother, and of the glorious St. Michael the Archangel, Thou wouldst deign to help us against Satan and all the other unclean spirits who wander about the world for the injury of the human race and the ruin of souls. Amen.

Breakin Walls

Prayer for Breaking the Wall Built Up Around the Heart

In order to break a wall that has a demonic cause, sometimes all that is necessary is to bind the wall that surrounds the heart in the Blood of Jesus, and/or break it three times in these or similar words.

I bind this wall that is around N’s heart in the Blood of Jesus and I break it in the Name of the Father and of the Son + and of the Holy Spirit.

At times severing the demons connection to the wall will help to begin the process of the wall coming down on the side of the person with the wall

P2 St. Joseph

Prayer to St. Joseph After the Rosary

“This prayer to Saint Joseph—spouse of the Virgin Mary, foster father of Jesus, and patron saint of the universal Church—was composed by Pope Leo XIII in his 1889 encyclical, Quamquam Pluries. . . . He asked that it be added to the end of the Rosary, especially during the month of October, which is dedicated to the Rosary. The prayer is enriched with a partial indulgence (Handbook of Indulgences, conc. 19), and may be said after the customary Salve Regina and concluding prayer. It may also be used to conclude other Marian devotions.”

To you, O blessed Joseph, do we come in our tribulation, and having implored the help of your most holy Spouse, we confidently invoke your patronage also.

Through that charity which bound you to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God and through the paternal love with which you embraced the Child Jesus, we humbly beg you graciously to regard the inheritance which Jesus Christ has purchased by his Blood, and with your power and strength to aid us in our necessities. O most watchful guardian of the Holy Family, defend the chosen children of Jesus Christ;  O most loving father, ward off from us every contagion of error and corrupting influence; O our most mighty protector, be kind to us and from heaven assist us in our struggle with the power of darkness.

As once you rescued the Child Jesus from deadly peril, so now protect God's Holy Church from the snares of the enemy and from all adversity; shield, too, each one of us by your constant protection, so that, supported by your example and your aid, we may be able to live piously, to die in holiness, and to obtain eternal happiness in heaven.

Amen.

P2 Joseph Terror of Demons

Prayer to St. Joseph Terror of Demons

Saint Joseph, Terror of Demons, cast your solemn gaze upon the devil and all his minions, and protect us with your mighty staff. You fled through the night to avoid the devil's wicked designs; now with the power of God, smite the demons as they flee from you! Grant special protection, we pray, for children, fathers, families and the dying. By God's grace, no demon dares approach while you are near, so we beg of you, always be near to us!

Amen.

Chaplet of St. Michael

The Chaplet of St. Michael

“The Chaplet of St. Michael is a wonderful way to honor this great Archangel along with the other nine Choirs of Angels. What do we mean by Choirs? It seems that God has created various orders of Angels. Sacred Scripture distinguishes nine such groupings: Seraphim, Cherubim, Thrones, Dominations, Powers, Virtues, Principalities, Archangels and Angels (Isa. 6:2; Gen. 3:24; Col. 1:16; Eph. 1:21; Rom. 8:38). There may be more groupings but these are the only ones that have been revealed to us. The Seraphim is believed to be the highest Choir, the most intimately united to God, while the Angelic Choir is the lowest.

The history of this Chaplet goes back to a devout Servant of God, Antonia d'Astonac, who had a vision of St. Michael. He told Antonia to honor him by nine salutations to the nine Choirs of Angels. St. Michael promised that whoever would practice this devotion in his honor would have, when approaching Holy Communion, an escort of nine angels chosen from each of the nine Choirs. In addition, for those who would recite the Chaplet daily, he promised his continual assistance and that of all the holy angels during life, and after death deliverance from purgatory for themselves and their relations.

[This devotion was approved by Pope Pius IX in 1851.]”

O God, come to my assistance.

R. O Lord, make haste to help me.

Glory be to the Father, etc…

(Say one Our Father and three Hail Marys after each of the following nine salutations in honor of the nine Choirs of Angels)

By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Seraphim may the Lord make us worthy to burn with the fire of perfect charity. Amen.

By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Cherubim may the Lord grant us the grace to leave the ways of sin and run in the paths of Christian perfection. Amen.

By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Thrones may the Lord infuse into our hearts a true and sincere spirit of humility. Amen.

By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Dominations may the Lord give us grace to govern our senses and overcome any unruly passions. Amen.

By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Virtues may the Lord preserve us from evil and falling into temptation. Amen

By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Powers may the Lord protect our souls against the snares and temptations of the devil. Amen.

By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Principalities may God fill our souls with a true spirit of obedience. Amen.

By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Archangels may the Lord give us perseverance in faith and in all good works in order that we may attain the glory of Heaven. Amen.

By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Angels may the Lord grant us to be protected by them in this mortal life and conducted in the life to come to Heaven. Amen.

Say one Our Father in honor of each of the following leading Angels: St. Michael, St. Gabriel, St. Raphael and our Guardian Angel.

Concluding prayers:

O glorious prince St. Michael, chief and commander of the heavenly hosts, guardian of souls, vanquisher of rebel spirits, servant in the house of the Divine King and our admirable conductor, you who shine with excellence and superhuman virtue deliver us from all evil, who turn to you with confidence and enable us by your gracious protection to serve God more and more faithfully every day.

Pray for us, O glorious St. Michael, Prince of the Church of Jesus Christ, that we may be made worthy of His promises.

Almighty and Everlasting God, Who, by a prodigy of goodness and a merciful desire for the salvation of all men, has appointed the most glorious Archangel St. Michael Prince of Your Church, make us worthy, we ask You, to be delivered from all our enemies, that none of them may harass us at the hour of death, but that we may be conducted by him into Your Presence. Litany of Loreto

Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Litany of Loreto)

The Litany of The Blessed Virgin Mary, also known as the Litany of Loreto, is a popular prayer of supplication, once prayed in processions to atone for sins and to prevent calamities.

Pilgrims at the famous Marian Shrine in Loreto, Italy used it in the 16th century, and it was approved in 1587 by Pope Sixtus V. Although it is often prayed privately, especially after the rosary, the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary has the distinction of being one of only six litanies approved for public recitation by the Holy See.

Its invocations to our Blessed Mother include titles given to her by the early Church Fathers in the first few centuries of Christianity. The Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary has also been set to music (as the Litany of Loreto) by such celebrated composers as Palestrina, Charpentier, and Mozart.

Rosary of Liberation

Rosary of Liberation

To be prayed on a Rosary:

Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.

R. Amen

If you are praying this for oneself:

In place of the Our Father’s (on the large beads): If Jesus makes me free, I will be free indeed. (Jn. 8:36).

In place of the Hail Mary’s (on the small beads): Jesus, have mercy on me! Jesus, heal me! Jesus, save me! Jesus, free me!

If you are praying this rosary for someone/something else:

In place of the Our Father’s (on the large beads): If Jesus makesN. free,N. will be free indeed. (Jn. 8:36).

In place of the Hail Mary’s (on the small beads): Jesus, have mercy on N.! Jesus, heal my family! Jesus, save N.!  Jesus, free N.!

Hail Holy Queen

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To you do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this alley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us, and after this exile show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

Breastplate of St. Patrick

Breastplate of St. Patrick

I bind N. today to a strong virtue, an invocation of the Trinity. I believe in a Threeness,

with confession of a Oneness in the Creator of the Universe.

I bind N. today to the virtue of Christ's birth with His baptism,
To the virtue of His crucifixion with His burial,
To the virtue of His resurrection with His ascension,
To the virtue of His coming to the Judgment of Doom.

I bind N. today to the virtue of ranks of Cherubim,
In obedience of Angels,
In service of Archangels,
In hope of resurrection for reward,
In prayers of Patriarchs,
In preaching of Apostles,
In faiths of Confessors,
In innocence of Holy Virgins,
In deeds of righteous men.

I bind N. today to the virtue of Heaven,
In light of Sun,
In brightness of Snow,
In splendor of Fire,
in speed of Lightning,
in swiftness of Wind,
In depth of Sea,
In stability of Earth,
In compactness of Rock.

I bind N. today to God’s Virtue to pilot him/her,
God’s might to uphold him/her,
God’s wisdom to guide him/her,
God’s eye to look before him/her,
God’s ear to hear him/her,
God’s Word to speak to him/her,
God’s hand to guard him/her,
God’s way to lie [clearly] before him/her,
God’s shield to protect him/her,
God’s host to secure him/her,
Against snares of demons,
Against seductions of vices,
Against lusts of nature,
Against everyone who wishes ill to him/her,
Afar and anear,
Alone and in a multitude.

So have I invoked all these virtues between N.
Against every cruel and merciless power which may come,
Against his/her body and his/her soul,
Against incantations of false prophets,
Against black laws of heathenry,
Against false laws of heretics,
Against craft of idolatry,
Against spells of witches and smiths and druids,
Against every knowledge that defiles men's souls.

Christ to protect N. today,
Against poison,
Against burning,
Against drowning,
Against wounding,
Until a multitude of rewards come to N.!

Christ with him/her,
Christ before him/her,
Christ behind him/her,
Christ in him/her,
Christ below him/her,
Christ above him/her!
Christ at his/her right,
Christ at his/her left!
Christ in breadth,
Christ in length,
Christ in height!

Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of him/her,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks to him/her,
Christ in every eye that sees him/her,
Christ in every ear that hears him/her!

I bind N. today to a strong virtue, to an invocation of the Trinity. I believe in a Threeness with confession of a Oneness, in the Creator of the universe. Salvation is the Lord's; salvation is yours, O Lord; salvation is Christ's. May Thy salvation, O Lord, be always with us.

Little Psalter of the Most Holy Face of Jesus

Little Psalter

The following is from a priest friend of St. Michael Center.  He wrote, “Our Lord spoke to my heart, saying:

Yes, I tell you, the Little Psalter is pleasing to My Heart and I shall bless those who seek My Face by praying the Little Psalter in My presence. Its value comes from the inspired Word of God that composes it. Each of the verses has a resonance in heaven, and in My Church on earth, and in Purgatory, where souls are consumed with longing to see My Face.

Pray the Little Psalter for yourself, but pray it also for those priests who have asked you to intercede for them. Pray it for groups of priests, and pray it for [the priests of] entire nations. Pray it for bishops and for priests charged with the care of souls. Pray it for priests who languish in the darkness and cold of lives from which I am absent because they, in their weakness, and blindness, and ignorance, have closed to Me the door of their hearts. Pray it for the dying — how beautiful it is to die longing to behold My Face in light. And pray it for the souls in Purgatory that they may be so purified as to gaze upon My Face in glory.

Use the Little Psalter in interceding for souls held in bondage to evil, and use it for the healing of the sick in mind and body, for the radiance of My Eucharistic Face penetrates souls and bodies exposed to its light, bringing healing and repairing what has been damaged, disfigured, or tainted by evil and by the effects of sin.

In doing this, you will discover that the Little Psalter is a prayer of adoration and reparation, and it is for this that I have given it to you and ask you to make it known… I give you this prayer for My own glory, so outraged and spurned by souls grown cold in sin, but I also give it to you for your own consolation after so much bitter suffering, and for the consolation of a great number of souls with whom I share My Passion, those who make up for what is lacking in My sufferings, in their own flesh, for the sake of My Body, the Church.”

The Little Psalter of the Most Holy Face of Jesus

Opening verse, thrice:

+ Hear, O Lord Jesus, the prayers of Thy servant. *

Cause Thy Face to shine upon Thy sanctuary. (Dan 9:17)

On the Pater beads:

My soul is athirst for God, the living God; *

when shall I come and appear before the Face of God? (Ps 41:3)

On the Ave beads:

Thy Face, Lord Jesus, will I seek, *

turn not away thy face from me. (Ps 26:8-9)

To conclude each decade:

Behold, O God our protector: *

and look upon the Face of Thy Christ. (Ps 83:10)

At the end of five decades, thrice:

Let God arise, and let His enemies be scattered: *

and let them that hate Him flee from before His Face.( Ps 67:2)

In conclusion:

+ The light of Thy Face, Lord Jesus, is signed upon us; *

Thou hast given gladness in my heart. (Ps 4:7)

The Little Psalter of the Holy Face consists of three parts of 50 invocations divided into decades. As with the Rosary of the Blessed Virgin, the three parts of the Little Psalter of the Holy Face need not be said all at once.

Prayer for Healing Our Family Tree

FamilyTree

Heavenly Father, I come before You as Your child, in great need of Your help. I have physical health needs, emotional needs, spiritual needs, and interpersonal needs. Many of my problems have been caused by own failures, neglects, and sinfulness for which I humbly beg Your forgiveness. But I also ask You to forgive the sins of my ancestors whose failures have left their effects on me in the form of unwanted tendencies, behavior patterns, and defects in body, mind and spirit. Heal me, Lord of all these disorders.

With Your help I sincerely forgive everyone, especially living or dead members of my family tree who have directly offended me or my loved ones in any way …or those whose sins have resulted in our present sufferings and disorders. In the Name of Your divine Son Jesus and in the power of the Holy Spirit, I ask You, Father, to deliver me and my entire family tree from the influence of the evil one. Free all living and dead members of my family tree, including those in adoptive relationships and those in extended family relationships, from every contaminating form of bondage. By Your loving concern for us, heavenly Father, and by the shed Blood of Your Precious Son, Jesus, I beg You to extend Your blessings to me and to all my living and deceased relatives. Heal every negative effect transmitted through all past generations, and prevent such negative effects in future generations of my family tree.

I symbolically place the Cross of Jesus over the head of each person in my family tree and between every generation. I ask You to let the cleansing Blood of Jesus purify the bloodlines in my family lineage. Set Your protective angels to encamp around us, and permit Archangel Raphael, the patron of healing, to administer Your divine healing power to all of us, even in the area of genetic disability. Give special power to our family members’ guardian angels to heal, protect, guide and encourage each of us in all our needs. Let Your healing power be released at this very moment and let it continue as long as Your sovereignty permits.

In our family tree, Lord, replace all bondage with a holy bonding in family love. And let there be an ever-deeper bonding with You, Lord, by the Holy Spirit to Your Son, Jesus. Let the family of the Holy Trinity pervade our family with its tender, warm, loving presence, so that our family may recognize and manifest that love in all our relationships. All of our unknown needs we include with this petition that we pray in Jesus’ Precious Name. AMEN.

St. Joseph, Patron of Family Life, pray for us.

Rev. John H. Hampsch, C.M.
